Edward B. Gerard focuses his practice on representing individual and institutional shareholders in corporate merger and acquisition class actions.
Prior to joining Robbins Umeda LLP, Mr. Gerard was an associate at California-based Rutan & Tucker, LLP for nearly four years. While there, he represented a diverse group of clients in civil and commercial litigation matters, including securities fraud and shareholder derivative actions. Since 1998, Mr. Gerard has served in the U.S. Air Force, both on active duty and in the reserves. He has deployed to the Middle East in support of combat operations in Afghanistan and is certified as an Air Force Judge Advocate.
Mr. Gerard earned his Juris Doctor degree from University of California, Los Angeles School of Law in 2006 and was a member of the moot court honors program and the Journal of International Law and Foreign Affairs. While in law school, Mr. Gerard served as a law clerk at the U.S. Attorney's Office, Southern District of California; at the Office of General Counsel, Department of Defense; and at a Southern California-based litigation firm. Mr. Gerard earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government with honors from Claremont McKenna College in 1998.
